Busy Bees

As part of our work as entomologists (bug scientists) we have been looking at different minibeasts. This week we have been learning about bees. We found out that bees are so important because they help pollinate plants. When they are collecting pollen for their own hive, they move pollen from one flower to another, which helps to make new flowers.

We used glitter glue for our pollen

We had 10 flowers and five bees. At the start of the experiment, only five flowers had pollen. The bees set to work, moving from flower to flower to collect pollen. At the end of the experiment, we could see pollen on all 10 flower and all five bees.
